NIA BRITT- NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR RETURNS BACK TO ALEMANY..
Nationally ranked 100 meter hurdler Brisa Guzman-Sanchez (14 years old) has chosen to join her brother (11th grader) Mason Guzman-Sanchez at Bishop Alemany HS for her Freshman year. Head coach Michael Wellington, M.A is looking forward to having Brisa join Alemany's Varsity Track & Field program.

Brisa has run for the past nine years with the Northridge Pacers Track Club where she recently set the new club 100 meter hurdle record. She is the leader in the entire Valley Youth conference and took first place at the 2012 USATF Junior Olympic Region 15 finals at Cerritos College with a time of 15.15. Specializing in hurdles and sprints, this will be her 5th season running hurdles. She looks forward to being a positive contribution to the team and looks forward to working with the other athletes.

Coach Wellington has announced that the Alemany top hurdle crew will be competing for the first time in the shuttle relays in both 100 hurdles for women and the 110 hurdles for men. Brisa is very excited about the new training program recently implemented and the new tartan track now under construction. She feels it will be fun to run with her older brother and represent Alemany in the upcoming season.
The nation's most polished ninth-grader in the shot put, no other freshman was within five feet of Britt's school record of 48 feet, 9 inches in March, which ranked second overall in the state and No. 8 in the country this season. Despite recovering from a knee injury suffered during the winter basketball playoffs, Britt still won Mission League and Southern Section Div. III shot put titles, before placing third at both the Masters meet and State Finals, where she led with two rounds remaining

As of November 1 Nia Britt returns back to Alemany Hisgh School after serving the first half of the semester at Sieera Canyon High School.

NIA BRITT- PLACES AT INDOOR STATE MEET
Tylnn Carter with a MAJOR personal record of 56.00 in the 400m. She achieved a great season as she grew in ability. This Alemany athlete was officially recognized by the archdiocese after accomplishing 12th place in the CIF state wide competition.
